Work feedback in the dashboard

The dashboard groups notes by environment. An environment is one site that loads the widget, such as production, a branch deployment or a pull request preview.

Choose an environment

In the dashboard, open Projects, choose the project, then open Environments. Select one to see its notes.

Environments are grouped by their latest note: Today, This week, This month and Earlier.

On an environment, select Open Gutternote to open the site with the widget on. A verified pull request preview also has Open in GitHub, using that preview’s stored repository binding. An unbound preview shows Repository not verified instead; its notes remain readable. The project’s current GitHub repository does not supply a link for an older preview.

If a preview shows no branch or commit, its pages are missing build tags. See Build context.

Filter

The list starts on Open. Switch to Resolved or All. Select Show more to load more.

Open in place

Select Open in place. The site opens in a new tab with the note open beside its pin. Reply, resolve or reopen it there. Refresh the dashboard to see the new status.

Send to agent

A note from someone who cannot send work to agents, usually a guest, shows Send to agent. Select it to hand that note to your coding agent. See Resolve feedback with your agent.

Once an agent has a note, the row shows where it is:

LabelMeaning
agent on itThe agent has picked it up
agent workingThe agent is working on it
agent asked a questionThe agent is waiting for an answer in the thread
agent resolvedThe agent resolved it
reopened for agentSomeone reopened it, and the agent will work it again

File a note as a GitHub issue

Select File as issue to open a GitHub issue from a note. The button then shows the issue number and links to it.

  • The project needs a connected repository. See GitHub.
  • Only workspace members can file issues.
  • A note on the same element and page as an open issue is added to that issue, not filed again.
  • The issue and the note have separate states. Closing the issue does not resolve the note, and resolving the note does not close the issue.
